"I see." Valeria said and nodded. "As for why I am not out fighting the Blight, I was just recruited, they don't mean I am suitable enough yet since I can't sense the darkspawn just yet. In addition, they felt they needed some presence in Denerim so for now... I am stuck here." She said and sighed. "Bar fights is pretty much all the excitement I have seen here so far. Such a boring place. Nothing to do at all." She said and sighed heavily. "There are some out there, fighting the Blight, but I am not supposed to join them just yet it seems. No it seems I have a few days left, before I am sent to be torn apart by the Darkspawn like everyone else." She said, and shrugged.

"What about the rest of you? Out fighting the good fight or are they slacking off like you?" she teased playfully. "Bar brawls are good for a warm up so long as you don't get lost in the chaos." she chuckled "Torn apart? Do you really have that little faith in your skills? Surely a skilled mage can survive quite a while?" she asked raising an eyebrow "However being torn apart by darkspawn certainly sounds more amusing than constantly fighting in brawls for your own safety"

"Out fighting for good, I guess. Those who are not recruits." She said. "As for me being torn apart, I think I could survive death, but death is inevitable. And despite all my power, all my skills, I only have that much mana, only that much energy, and eventually, even the strongest of warriors will fall to hunger, numbers and lack of energy." She said. "I might not be torn apart immediately, but it will only be a matter of time." She said and nodded. "I would rather be allowed to be stuck in a library, increasing my power, or something. I guess I am boring that way."

"Survive Death? Ha! No one survives the reaper. He comes for all eventually as you say" she chuckled "Is that not what the mage tower is for? Why do you not live out your days there instead of becoming a Grey Warden? or did you fight from the moment they came after you?" She asked.

"The mages liked me, and my potential. At first." She said. "They kept following me into the Fade, monitoring my activity, and at first they were pleased with what they saw, and I was a loyal student to them. I began to get especially good at destructive magic." She said. "That's where things began to go down hill. They saw my love for destroying things, and assumed that my love for it would go above my loyalty." She said and sighed. "So, the decision was made that I should be made tranquil. I fled. Got caught. Grey Wardens recruited me. And now I am here." She said. "Had they been willing to keep me... Had they not wanted to make me a mindless monster, I would not have cared for it. I would have stayed there. But they betrayed my loyalty. So I betrayed theirs." She said, and shrugged. "You?" Valerie said and looked over at the girl. She assumed she was a mage too, she didn't see it, on the outside, but she could feel it, faintly.

"I come from a long line of powerful apostates, the circle knows of us but never devoted much into finding out exactly who we are. I on the other hand decided I didn't want to be a mage I wanted to fight, I wanted to be in the thick of it cutting my enemies down." She replied "However the family didn't take this too well, although they tolerate it barely the air becomes so thick with tension you could slice it with a knife" she added "So I travel abroad and occasionally find myself in places like that at the wrong time"

"You made a wise choice." Valerie said. "Being a mage is not all that. Demons. Magic. Nobody trusting you... Being unable to kill things without your mana. It's horrible." Valerie said. "I had to find an ancient ghost just to learn how to fight like I did earlier, and even that is complicated as hell to learn compared to just "Swing sword"." Valerie said. "I know it's harder than that. But you get my point." She added.
